What’s Inside a Permanent Bag Sealing Tape (Layer Stack)
Permanent bag sealing tape is a double-sided adhesive construction applied near the opening of a plastic bag. One adhesive side permanently anchors the tape to the bag film, while the exposed sealing side creates the final non-resealable closure after the PET release liner is removed.

Production Case: Permanent Tape for Heavy-Duty Courier Bags
A courier-bag manufacturer required stronger permanent sealing for a thicker HDPE mailer. The original tape showed inconsistent bonding because of the bag film formulation, surface treatment and increased bag thickness.
After reviewing the film sample and production conditions, we recommended a wider permanent bag sealing tape and adjusted the adhesive width. Samples were tested on the customer’s existing bag-making line before bulk production.

Operational Tips for Permanent (Non-Resealable) Seals
- Ensure the sealing area is dry and free of dust/oils. For polyethylene (PE) mailers—especially high-density polyethylene (HDPE)/low-density polyethylene (LDPE)—verify surface treatment (corona treatment ≥ 36 dynes) at the mouth.
- Apply with firm, even pressure. Lay the tape straight, press along the lane to wet-out the high-tack hot-melt adhesive (bag side), peel the polyethylene terephthalate (PET) liner, then close and press the mouth evenly.
- Match width to the job. Use wider lanes for wide bag mouths or heavier contents; choose Thin for very high-speed lines; use Aluminum-backed when extra stiffness/flatness helps handling.
- Mind antiblock & coatings because excess antiblocking agents or slip on the bag film can reduce adhesion—confirm dyne and run a quick peel test before production.
- Store tape at 20–25 °C, dry conditions. If cartons arrive cold, let them acclimate to room temperature before use; performance can drop below 0 °C.
- Keep cartons flat, away from sunlight/dust. Follow FIFO and re-bag opened rolls.
- When in doubt, sample first. Run a short line trial with your target width/roll length and confirm seal integrity before a full order.
